🌾 POLJA FESTIVAL SHOWCASE — ROMANTSO, ATHENS 🌾
@poljafestival arrives in Athens for a special showcase at Romantso, bringing together artists connected through the festival’s extended network across Belgrade, Prishtina, Berlin and Athens.
The lineup gathers DJs and producers who have all appeared at Polja over the years: André Pahl, Tadi, Houschyar and Kӣr - alongside Athens local favorite K.atou, a long-standing force of the city’s club scene.
Berlin-based @andre_pahl is known for his Safari mixes: pitched-down cinematic journeys through psychedelic electronics, spaced-out atmospheres and voodoo percussion, exploring the slowed-down heartbeat of dance music. Kӣr, Belgrade-based composer, producer and cultural worker, approaches DJing through a similarly exploratory lens, connecting experimental electronics with adventurous club sounds.
@____tadi , a visual artist, DJ and producer from Prishtina, is the co-founder of the feminist/queer collective Bijat and the Prishtine Is Burning club night. Her dynamic sets have appeared on platforms such as Boiler Room, NTS Radio and Mutant Radio, and in clubs including Arkaoda, Salon des Amateurs and OHM, festivals like Ment, Sonica, Lighthouse Festival and DokuNights.
Athens-based @houschyar.m , who studied fine art in the class of Carsten Nicolai (Alva Noto), develops performances that shift between psychedelic textures and heavy rhythmic journeys. For this occasion he will present a DJ set.
Completing the lineup is @janetdavis , one of the strongest voices of the Athens scene for more than a decade. After formative years in London and Berlin, she returned to Athens to establish key residencies and build an international profile, with a sound rooted in the classic 90s house and techno traditions of Detroit, Chicago and Frankfurt, infused with trippy, dubbed-out textures.
